I could, if you want, balance up the conversation by posting a story about every time I've set up some tubeless wheels with no bother at all. It would get a bit monotonous though.

TBF, I put folk who cant do tubeless in the same category as I couldn't get so-and-so tyres on/off without breaking three metal tyre levers and front mechs are so complex to set up and use so I went 1x.

What category for people who won't do choobless rather than can't. I mean I could do 29" 1x12 carbon but I don't :wink: .

Don't answer that rhetorical question :wink: .

@scots

Once experienced and with a nice tyre rim combo its generally straighforward but if you have never had issues you are very lucky.
Its usually but not always easy IME based on 50 + tyres done for me and mates.
Bontrager rims and continental tyres certainly dont match, even a shop with a compressor gave up - I did manage it after a few days but the fool let the tyre go down and took it to a shop [one side was still beaded at this point.
Your observation does not match my reality or that of many others.

As I said to my mate on Saturday, as I spent 40 minutes watching him change a tube, 3 times as the spare and original got punctured tying to get an impossibly tight tyre on...

Go tubeless, it can still be a faff if you're unlucky and get the wrong combination of wheel/tyre, but at least you get to choose the time and location of the faff.
