Tom and I are heading North tomorrow via the Great North Trail to Cape Wrath.

All being well we'll ride back also.

If anyone wants to join us along the way you will be welcome. Pace will be steady.

We have a tracker should you wish to intercept us.

https://share.garmin.com/capewrath

You'll find the route we will take North below.

https://www.cyclinguk.org/route/great-n ... cape-wrath

Heading South we will follow An Turas Mor as far as Loch Laggan, then follow the Second City Divide route towards Manchester.

Cheers

Rich

Good to see you today Sean.

A bit of sweet talk and we got in. They even gave us some free food for the trail.

Well done Rich/Tom... FWIW I had planned to bring my little un (6), AbdurRahman to join the ride for a mile or so but upon looking you'd already gotten past Hebdwn Bridge somewhere. That was ages ago anyway. Ride safe :-bd

A quick question on route choice.
At Killin they took the route up Glen Lochy and over to Glen Lyon then down to Bridge of Balgie.
Why not go via Ben Lawers road to Bridge of Balgie.

I know its steep but I have many happy memories of Tarmachan Ridge at all times of the year and in all weathers
so it would be purely personal. This was in the days before the visitor centre was removed.
I have not ridden the route to Glen Lochy but I remember the ride down Glen Lyon as being very uninteresting where as the Ben Lawers road would be the scenic route with a good decent to Bridge of Balgie.
Is it just preference or is the main road down to the Ben Lawers road best avoided?

The official route goes up glen lochy to miss some a road bashing. Ben lawyers road is shorter and no less climby so better if you ain't set on sticking to the 'official ' route

Looks like they made it to Cape Wrath ! - Well done guys

Mapshare didn't work with my InReach Mini on the YD300 this weekend. It looks like a Garmin issue probably due to the recent ransomware hack. - Rich and Tom's tracks look to have been affected too.
