The Machine.
(The Dutch band)
Been listening them for the last 10 days. All of it. Constantly. Still not bored.
Feels like I've listened to them for 20 years.
Waiting to become fed up of it.
Not happening?

Ah, another eclectic music taste...

The other night on the turbo ( oh yes I now have one, a very old one, set up in a tent thing outside, with purple fairly lights and all, love it!) I went from that Sisters of Mercy track, to Tony de Vit (blimmin fast, got knackering quite soon), to Max Richter's four seasons recomposed, in the real rain outside, quite magical that....

Well that was one of the most unusual performances I've ever been to. The Ice Quartet. Quite captivating really, and, quite literally, chilled out. Instruments made from ice. I was particularly absorbed by the ice bells, which reminded me of Sgt Pinback's milk bottle piano in Dark Star. The musicians wore parkas and thick gloves, and my own bikepacking thermals were essential!

Ta Scott, quite enjoyed that with my toast. (PS. what are you up to these days?)

It jogged a Blyth Power memory for some reason:

I loved the Cardiacs. Saw them a few times and they were a proper spectacle.

Oh, and this programme (How to play Schubert’s Death and the Maiden) was on in the car as I was driving home the other day. I’m not a classical music buff but this fascinating. It’s a really dramatic, evocative piece of music and the whole programme was a good listen.

Recent purchases, Explosions in the Sky 'End' which is something of a return to form, and i'm a long standing fanboy. Plus Kieran Hebden and William Tyler collaboration, 'Darkness, Darkness' which is ace.

I'm listening to nothing but Killing Joke today. I saw them earlier this year at the Royal Albert Hall and it looks like that will be their last ever gig

RIP Geordie. Thank you for the soundtrack to my youth and later life
