My Spesh tahoes are starting to fall apart and they were always a bit on the narrow side. Previously I had a pair of Shimano MT35's which were ideal (in a break with tradition for Shimano) but no longer available and the replacement looks horrible.

Must be lace only, no boa or straps, good to walk in and won't get you thrown out the pub.....

Any suggestions? I've been eyeing up the Five ten kestrels but they are affy steep and the soles look like they won't last long. Also potential is the Bontrager SSr multisport but I can't find any info on width other than they are comfort fit...

I’d steer clear of five tens if you have wide feet, I bought a pair and they are very narrow, tried them on once and moved them on to pickers.

I do have certified Hobbit feet so you might be ok if you’re slightly more normal

I got 5.10 kestrels (in a sale luckily) and really like them. I'm size 12.5 and wide and they've been great. Soles are pretty good for the HAB I've done and general off the bikeness.

I'd definitely get them again, but hopefully in a sale again too

Lake have a good reputation for wider fittings.

tried giro, shimano, bontrager, lake, decathlon, 5/ten, 45nrth.

widest by some margain are northwave enduro mids.

I respect Steve's opinion because he knows his stuff, but I have feet like a duck and a size 47 5-10 is fine for me, as it is for pretty much all the shoes I've bought for the past 30 years.

But ... I've been padding around my house for 4 months in slippers or barefoot and, as a tester thingy, just put my regular work shoes on. They're very nice Rockports and 4 months ago putting them on was a little slice of bliss ..... can't get them on now. Feet have splayed. Arse. Bum. Poo. And. Wee. Lucky but as I think a lot of us have shown that going into the office is a needless and expensive nonsense. Nothing I can't do there that I can't do from my kitchen. And so be it.

Now. Back to shoes.

edinburgh bike coop go me some of the xm9 boots to try, i couldnt even get my club right foot in them.
i also tried some Lake cx 12??. they were wide enough, but felt far too low and felt like they were falling off.

Same for me! In fact I've just bought some £24 'barefoot' trainers from Amazon because all my old shoes feel too narrow now! They're like a pair of slippers but with a grippy sole. Not had many odd looks yet either. Rubbish for cycling in though.

I bought a pair of Merrell Vapor Glove 4 3D last year, they were brilliant to wear. Not so brilliant was the cost and the fact they only lasted two months before I went through the sole. Been meaning to splash on some Vivobarefoot ones, but they're £120!

I've got the XM-9's as well. Overall they are OK width wise (sized at 46 when I normally take a 45 in a boot) but the left one does antagonise my bunion.

No Lakes to be had in my size for love nor money sadly as the MX 80 / 100 looked ideal. Awaiting Bontrager telling me how wide the SSR is

I have super wide feet too. As others say, sizing up an XM9 and OK, but general fit isn't great when you do that.

I find Specialized 2FOs are pretty wide and comfy all round. I use the flat versions. Presume spd version is the same.

Sidi wide are really wide and comfy, but they are useless to walk in and useless when trying to mash your foot onto the pedal looking for the cleat
