Edit: the original thread with details in case any non-members have found this: here

If you don’t want to buy this lovely frame, some pennies via PayPal gift to *deleted* would also be appreciated.

Edit: I’ve now deleted Shaf’s email address at his request. If you want to donate anything to his hospital trust, please do so directly at https://www.yorkhospitals.nhs.uk/get-in ... to-donate/

Alternatively, your local trust could probably also use the help!
/Edit

I’ve been lazily trying to sell my Ti Stooge since buying a lovely Occam on here, but with no real impetus to do so.

Instead, I’m going to run an auction for it, closing SUNDAY 19th at 9pm!

The winning bid goes directly to Shafiq’s respirator fund PayPal - then I send you it.

Bids in a minimum increment of £10 please (avoids hundreds of penny posts), and the price includes UK postage when I can find a box and get out to somewhere accepting parcels. Post your bids on this thread please.

It’s a 29+ Ti Stooge frame, with a Hope headset included. I’ll chuck in a seat collar, and obviously you’ll get the threaded EBB too.

Now that I’ve worked out how to take photos I can put more here if required. Happy bidding!

Do we bid on here ? if so

£300
Ensures a decent amount and about the limit of what I can afford so I dont expect to win it

As a bidder I will donate a tenner just for taking part - this is not cmpulsory obvs but you know peer pressure and it's for a great cause* :-bd [edit for clarity : this was added after the OP replied to be clear and he is not saying yes to the tenner idea]

*Should have said £100 to make me more likely to win

It’s a mk1.5 29+ frame with the plate chainstay from December 2015. Satin finish.

Designed to be used rigid, but others on the forum have run a bouncy fork with it. The Ti Stooge has a lot of bikepacking pedigree, mine has done the Cairngorms Loop, Capital Trail and a US trip. There are several others that have completed the HT550, including on here.

Considerably lighter and arguably comfier than the steel version, and it accelerates very well. It feels longer in the rear than the mk1 steel due to being 29+, but this makes it more stable.

It’s one size, and will fit riders from about 5ft 8ish and up. I’m 6ft and ran a 70mm stem and layback post as per the picture. This equates to the standard size Stooge as I know Andy made a bigger version later on too.

It’s currently unbuilt in my garage so I can get some more photos later today.

44mm diameter, can’t remember the length but will find out when I pop out to my garage. The mk4 is listed as 150mm on the Stooge site.

I’m going to have to put this on hold for a moment. I’ve found an issue with the frame so cannot pass it on until resolved.

OK, the full story.

I found a hairline crack in the chainstay/seatstay weld, so obviously I can’t sell a frame like that, no matter the good cause involved. I need to ship it back to Stooge, who’ll then ship to their frame builder for a professional repair. So it’s not going to be a quick fix, especially given closed borders and shipping delays.

Once I have it back, or at least being confident of its shipping, I’ll offer the frame up again on exactly the same basis. While I recognise there may be some reluctance around a repaired frame, I happily ride a repaired Ti fork and have all my teeth intact.

If the respirator fund no longer needs respirators, Shafiq can nominate another good cause for the proceeds.

I’m a bit peeved that I didn’t notice the crack sooner, but it’s hidden until up close - so I’m glad that I did find it on close inspection.

Are you selling the Enve forks separately?

I think I'm qualified to answer that question and bekieve the answer to be a 'No'... But I could be wrong

Enve forks are gone. It’s just the frame.

...and we’re back. It turns out the weld wasn’t completed fully at manufacture, so it split where there was a gap in the weld. Luckily the wizards at Five Land Bikes have removed and replaced the weld properly, so it’s better than it ever was.

Here’s a before and after shot:

I’m conscious that charliecres was leading at £450 - so let’s see if he wants to continue at £450 or if anyone wants to increase bidding. I can get as many other photos of the frame as anyone wants.

I’ll look to close the bids at 9pm on Sunday night and then post next week (as Five Land helpfully gave me a box). Also included is a spare EBB which I got for a previous frame but it’s completely unused and pristine.

For anyone unaware of Five Land’s pedigree, they’re run by an ex-Shand welder, currently build for Cotic, and have already done two Ti repairs for me on my Jones. Luckily they’re round the corner from me so I dropped it off on my daily exercise.

I had a 3” 29er Chronicle in the rear, so 650b + is fine.

It’s 135mm QR

So Charlie is back in the lead at £450. A good price for a great bike. Anyone else?
