good ground sht material?

The lightest thing you're likely to find is either cuben or Polycro. Polycro is a sort of brand name, it's actually the same as window film (the stuff you put over your windows and shrink with a hair dryer). I've used a Polycro one for the last 6 months or so and it's still in good condition, no rips or puntures.

The other option is nylon. Silnylon is lighter than PU coated but more expensive. If I were using Sil I'd go for something about 80g a metre.

As CM says, Tyvec works well too.

I have a roll of 'tyvek type' membrane left from building my shed. Clad in cedar with membrane, It's quite a nice shed!

I can cut off 2 metres of it or whatever and whack it in the post for a few quid if you want to try it out. Not sure of the dimensions but can check in a couple of days.

I used a silver foil emergency blanket at the El'n Back. Worked a treat and only cost £2 or so. Bit of a 1 use and chuck it type thing, but it was waterproof, light (100g) and reflected some heat. Not huge though (a bit shorter than me, but wasn't a problem). Wasn't slippy like Silnylon so I didn't slip off it.

I've been using PolyCro and it seems to be very hard wearing a puncture proof - same bit for ages. Cut to size and flods up really small for stuffing in a corner of a seat pack or framebag.
Mine came from (?) B&Q or somewhere similar as secondary window glazing stuff.
