Quirks, habits, rituals, etc.

Not wanting to draw undue attention to sufferers of OCD but wondered whether anyone had any little quirks, habits or rituals when they're riding? You always do something before something else, carry something special or never ride without your lucky pants, kinda thing?

Me? I'd never demonstrate a jump without first pulling my socks up, right one first

Wierdo! Everyone knows it's left sock first. :-bd

I carry a Moots Ti bottle opener despite never using it in anger. Reminds me that I'll never be as epic as the person that gave it to me

None spring to mind

i have some routines like saddle bags on road and cross bikes so I know the tubes and spares i need are on it so i can just grab and go - however that is practical rather than superstitious.

EDIT: Two tubes - cannot stop myself. I have never ever had two punctures with tubeless but still cannot bring myself to ditch one of the tubes- I have never had one on my commute either but wont take none for that either .
YMMV and may still be practical if somewhat ultra cautious

I do a little botty flourish when having a stealth dump to make a proper walnut whip and then admire it.

No need, I'm already on my way out and I didn't bring one as it is a hot day.

Whenever I do a chsirty ride (say for one of the hospices and the like) I keep the little nunber tag stuck upfront... Then see how many I can collect. I'm coherently on only the one on Stan (the Bb200 badge wasnt quite q tag so is fonna go on the 4 year olds jacket)

 . Next time you could take a set of cappuccino stencils for that final personal touch. A smiley on top would finish it off nicely. https://www.garraways.co.uk/cappuccino-coffee-stencils . Not very LNT though I suppose. Actually, much better than that, Stu could make us a Ti BBB 'roaring bear' cappuccino stencil.

I'm having flashbacks of a disused signal box.

I pack my bags, then unpack them, remove stuff I know I won't use but just might need, then pack them again and put back the things I know I won't use but just might need. Happens every time.

If it is looking at all likely that it will rain or be unpleasant weather then I make sure to plough through the first puddle I pass to meet the mud on my terms. After doing this and realising that my toes have in fact not fallen off, I enjoy the weather far more, whatever that may be.

If on double track and both sides are equally smooth or rough I always seem to pick the right hand track. Absolutely no idea why.

I was reading about this the other week Ray - the human species (generally) is programmed to select the right when there is a choice between left and right. In latin, left means 'sinister' and the old English word 'lyft' translates to modern day English as 'weak' or 'foolish'. The old Dutch word 'loof' again, can be translated to 'weak' or 'worthless'.

Left handedness was long considered unlucky and the term was often used as a euphemism for such things as 'bent' 'crooked' or 'twisted'.

Every day's a school day.

I'd say you're on the right track there, wouldn't want to get left behind....

Me, I have a number of OCD traits :| I won't list any, they can be annoying :???:
