Use
Less
Vowels

Is this an efficiency thing? Are we saving the planet by transmitting fewer bits and using less ink?

I give you the new Zipp handlebar..

Yep, it's the XPLR. Perfect for your next ADVNTR.

Time the forum was renamed BRBNS?

I suppose using the word less instead of fewer follows the same rule

Don't lynch me but I imagine those bars would be quite spryly and have a certain rhythm.

Y is a part-time vowel, it's a vowel in rhythm but it's a consonant in yellow.

Both are considered correct these days. It's a battle on which I've long since given up.

D'you know Reg, I thought exactly that as I was passing through Ysbyty Ystwyth on my way to Cwmystwyth once :-bd

Back on Cln's original topic, it's surprising how easily we can read words that are missing letters (in this case vowels) or are jumbled within the first and last letters. I was a great fan of Ronnie Barker who (IMO) was a brilliant wordsmith and this brings to mind the sketch in the restaurant where conversation was in single letters/numbers - "F U N E X?" "V F N N E X" and so on...

Agree with PB. Less is not fewer  .

(PS. I'm going to post Andy some of my dried frog pills by the way. It won't completely work but may help suppress the worst of it...)

It's a battle on which I've long since given up.
So you fight it less often and therefore challenge it fewer times?

Oh and the best welsh word is mynci

It is the spelling of monkey and sounds the same.

Nah, the best Welsh word (well term) is "popty ping"* Popty is oven, so popty ping is microwave oven - brilliant :-bd

One that I liked was on the side of a BBC van advertising a summer festival/concert - "hafoc".

*Yes, I know it's a joke
