They're specifically excluded from the HT550 group start. Given the weight penalty I wouldn't think there was an advantage overall with taking one. Imaging pushing/carrying it up the coffin road or carrying it above your head at the Loch na Sealga crossing

On our local charity event they raced one against the best local rider on a normal bike. 28 miles with 2800 ft of climbing. The e-bike had a spare battery at halfway so it could be used on boost the whole time. The e-bike rider was the owner of a LBS so does a fair bit of riding but is more a down-hill kind of guy. The human powered bike won by 12 minutes.

And another thing.
Time and space allotted so anyone who is up for letting strangers sit on there bike can assemble.
Sort of try a bike/handle bar/wheel size/saddle/frame size.
Or some technical wizardry you have done with charging from a dynamo or got a huge granny ring to work with certain RD.
Sure I left something out but wouldn't it be great to be able to try another bike/set up before you shell out for something
only to find it is not for you.
Hard to tell on quick try but you might actually find the perfect flared drop/frame combination.
Personally I now know long reach bikes are not for me and would not have bought a Krampus or Fargo in my specified frame size but would love to fling a leg over a small frame just to try. Or drop bar bike with loops on.

Okay - thank you to everyone who shared their wants / wishes / outright fantasies. Some thought has taken place and if the stars align, I'm hoping they're might be something in the offing for early next spring.

At present, there are many parts that need puling together, however expect bike riding inc a competitive element for those with that calling - but obviously don't expect things to be dead straightforward. There will also be a social side with camping, food, etc and maybe even a bit of bad dancing.

The iron boot scrapers would be great but to be fair, anybody that don't take themselves seriously would be great.
