Got tarp. Don't use it much but did seem sensible to take it to Scotland this week just gone. Rained a fair bit, tarp lets water through after or during a night of rain. Seems that drops landing have enough pressure to force water through once it gets wetted out. Tarp is seam-sealed, fabric is std silnylon by looks of it.
Proofing, soak in watered-down Stans, sell and buy cuben?

Re: Silnylon proofing
Some Sil' seems better than others - maybe a simple quality thing or maybe that some is proofed / coated on both sides.

Re: Silnylon proofing
You can make a neat reproofing solution with clear silicon sealant you would use in a bathroom or kitchen and some white spirit.
Dissolve your sealant with the white spirit and then just paint it on. Try around a 1:10 sealant:spirit solution, shake it up in a jam jar or the like until it is all dissolved and just paint or roller it on.
Just make sure you buy a clear sealant and not a white one

Re: Silnylon proofing
top tips, thanks might try the silicon + white spirits on an old cut off before risking the tarp tent but sounds like a good long-term fix.
