Just wondered if anyones come across the above and is it as expensive for ownership (in the long run with subscriptions) as a Spot... Or the fact that noones mentioned nor got one is a reflection of iy being a bit rubbish!
Not needing one myself as such but thought to put it out there for future ref

You can't really compare the cost with a Spot because they do different things.
A Spot does continuous tracking so your friends + family can see where you are, it needs a subscription fee because it sends quite a lot of data.
That ResQLink is a one-time-use thing (or, preferably, never used at all), it'll only transmit your location via satellite once - when you press the emergency button.
