Just wrote a post but it got lost somewhere.

Been here a week. A few more weeks to go. Will post some pics when I have a better connection. Been wild camping each night.

Some ancient bladders I found in a ruined fort. Will come in handy for the longer stretches.
I just soaked them and they are as good as new.

In the early hours of Sunday morning at Glastonbury festival in 1999 I saw Keanu Reeves wandering round in a Moroccan kaftan. Thought I was seeing things after a fairly lively night but no, turns out it was him.

Really makes you think.

Hmm I saw Tommy Cooper in a fez once but not at Glastonbury.

I always imagine desserts to be full of snakes, scorpions hiding in my boots and giant spiders creeping about in the night.
What was the water and food availability?

I see your Mr Reeves and raise you ... many years ago my bike broke down somewhere on the M25. I went up the banking to discover a very high fence which I scaled to discover myself in what looked like a posh garden of a rather posh house. I knocked on the door to ask if I could use the phone (no mobiles then) and was greeted by Eric Clapton ... who let me use his phone.

It's a good story Stu but without any obvious Morocco link I'm going to ask that it's scratched from the record.

A very drunk Jimmy Nail threatened to beat me up in Newcastle pub. I'd have won, he could hardly stand up. It was half twelve on a Sunday lunch time and the pubs had only been open half an hour.

I think he had Secret Squirrel on the telly and we all know who his sidekick was

I'm still out here riding. Just checked into a hotel after a week of wild camping. Hence, no email for a week.

Internet is very slow, so will post later when it improves.

Just spent a fun afternoon dropping scorpions on top of spiders.
I have been zapped twice by a scorpion, so I don't feel bad about doing this. A bit of light relief after a day of 15-20% of up-hilling.

I think they are deathstalkers. Need to check. Worth googling, they are nasty buggers. But these were small ones.

Temps are misleading. When you are in the sunshine then shorts and tee. Nights are cold. I haven't seen a cloud in 2 1/2 weeks.

A lunchtime fire made with a bowdrill and camel poop. Gives the couscous a nice aroma.

Scorpion vs spider, saying you don't feel bad! Does that mean the spider wins?

They both lose. Spider is super fast. Wraps scorpion's stinger up. Then bites it. Game over.
BUT scorpion grabs two of the spider's legs and doesn't let go even when dead.
