Anyone know how a fork should be best stored off bike? Upside down, upright or does it not matter?? Im wondering if the seals may dry out if not being used for awhile thats all

Re: sus fork storage
Hadn't used the bouncy bike for about 5 months ,thought I'd better give it a blast the other day and everything worked fine mate no leaks from either chamber and no sticking ,seals do dry out so if your worried just turn it round once a week whilst your storing it ,if it makes any difference mine stored in the garage so there's no heat to speed up any drying outMike wrote:Anyone know how a fork should be best stored off bike? Re: sus fork storage
Just give them a quick shove up and down every few weeks or as Stu suggests, simply turn them over - no real science involved. New ones could well be sat in a warehouse for 2 years before being bought / fitted.
May the bridges you burn light your way

If you store them upside down and they are on the bike - then some hydraulic brakes may have issues. Air bubbles in the lever/reservoir can rise up into the hose. I am not sure if this is still relevant on more modern brakes.

My bouncy forks have been stood up untouched in the garage for a couple of years. Just gave them a bounce and they seem fine.
