New bike quandary

I'm going to buy myself a new bikepacky bike for Xmas because, frankly, I'm worth it, but mostly because I keep wrecking the hubs on my faithful OO Fatty, and they are getting rarer and more expensive by the minute. I will pass the Fatty onto a worthy individual, and here is the rub.

I am hugely excited about Ribble's Adventure 725. Love Reynold's toobs.

But the Brother Cycles Big Bro is equally good value and arguably a better long term spend. Dunno.

Please. Discuss.

Ribble.

2 x gears
Hydro brakes.

TBF, the spec page on the Ribble is sadly lacking in detail so I'd not be making my mind up until I could find out a bit more.

It's a bike, go with your heart, not your head.
For me I like the look and build of the Ribble, as Stu says, it just looks right.

I'm meant to be getting a Ribble to test as soon as they arrive on these shores. I'm looking forward to it and will do my best to get a review sorted in double quick time ... rare I know

Super tempting price on the Big bro frameset. I'd snap one up straight away if only it had boost spacing/ thru axles, perhaps the 2019 model will address this . I'd prefer the Ribble as a total package

Big Bro looks very much like a Longitude ... not a bad thing, just an observation.

I presume those are Jones Loops on the Ribble? It says "Level Flared" in several places, which doesn't mean anything to me :???:

I'm going for a similar style but not Jones.

Fancy a Surly Troll, teensy amount of paint chipped off to save £240.

I have to say that the Ribble Adventure 725 has me excited. I don't often get excited by new bikes as there are so many to look at, but it just looks right and I would have one if I had the cash...
