Anyone 'carved' a cambium?

Hi,

I've got a cambium C17 all weather which I found really comfy on my last bikepack trip. But I did start feeling like there was a lump in the perenium area when riding after a few days of gravel. Presumably just a bit swollen at the end of a day as there was nothing to see or lasting.

Anyway I'm considering cutting a slot as per the carved version to relieve perenium pressure as I love the saddle other wise.

I was going to just copy the size and position from the carved version as I assume its not actually structurally different?

Anyone done it? Any tips?

I don't want to mess it up as it was a present from a friend!

Yes I cut mine to the same sort of slot as on the official carved version, it did make it more comfortable but I still found it too uncomfortably unforgiving so gave up on it.
Cutting the slot caused no adverse effects as far as I could tell.
What was interesting though was to find that there is a layer of fabric type material sandwiched in the middle of the rubber.

Thanks for that :-bd

I do find it really comfy, even on the turbo, other than the perenium pressure on a long day. I'll find a sharp knife and wide drill bit and give it a go....

Cheers for that offer, but I've bitten the bullet and done it now

Worked out fine, but I've only used it on the turbo so far as I'm not able to go outside on the bike yet after my knee op.
