1 litre bottle. SIS v Zefal

I have always used the SIS bottles, Science in Sport, but find the wide mouth, 1 litre bottles, always leak. Had 3.
Research has suggested that the Zefal 1 litre is a better bottle.
Anyone got any experience with them or others? Am I chasing the leak free impossible?

The SIS 1l is now a different design, smaller opening / new cap. Not used it yet but was planning to pick a couple up soon. My SIS leaks as you say, both cap and nozzle are a bit dribbly.

I wish there was a more plain or coloured 1l bottle out there.

Edit - maybe this is a new 800ml not 1l - I can't seem to find the 'new 1l' online after seeing what I thought was it in the Evans showroom recently.

I had the old SiS wide mouth and as you say they leaked, the nozzle came out easily.

Picked up two of the newer "non-wide" mouth and used for a 200 miler last weekend when i new it was going to be hot, and they were spot on, no leaks at all, only issue is due to the smaller mouth you it is more difficult to get any powders in the bottle, but ace for just water.

Try code "siscp25" I think that's right for 25% off too, if that doesn't work, let me know as it is from memory from the Cycling Podcast

Jameso - it is 1l - https://www.scienceinsport.com/shop-sis ... -wide-neck

I really need the wide mouth because on my longer trips I use an ultraviolet sterilizer.
Glad to know I am not the only one with dribbling issues.

It's an age thing apparently.

Mine didn't dribble when it was new.

Having a wide mouth does't help.

Not being pedantic but all my bottles have a wide mouth if I take the top off. :???:
I use Life Adventure .5l and Camel .75l and a Steripen.

I have the Zefal, it's fine. Harder plastic than the SIS type, which tend to flex (and therefore leak) at the top when squeezed hard. As long as you tighten the lid to the correct torque  it'll not leak.

The only downside is the valve isn't one of the type that doesn't leak when left open, so it needs to be manually closed each time.

Bought a SIS 1ltr for my trip north earlier in the year - it holds water fine, no leaks except when you don't close the top valve

I left a Zefal (black) somewhere a little before Sampeyre pass last year during Torino Nice Rally. If you go there maybe you'll find it back
