Sealskinz don't work with touchscreen

Post by Borderer »

I bought a pair of Sealskinz winter cycling gloves the other day. I am very pleased with them, other than that they don't operate the touchscreen on my MotoG4. They have a rubbery textured bit on the tips of the middle, index fingers and thumb but they do nothing on my phone.

Anyone else have this problem? It's a major pain as I use my phone for navigation and have to keep taking the glove off to adjust the map as we move. Is there a clever trick I can use instead?

Its the same ones as these:

That makes a pleasant change: from my considerable experience, Sealskinz don't work with water.

I guess I haven't worn them out in a deluge yet. They were cheap and are warm and comfortable, which would do me if I could sort the above issue. Dry would be a nice bonus.

I found them far too sweaty for cycling, they make excellent gardening gloves though.

Learn to type with your nose.
You think I'm joking, but I'm not.

Or just buy a touchscreen stylus. Small, cheap, easy

Buy the stylus, snap it in half and sow it on to one of the glove’s fingers. I have seen gloves with a mini stylus built in, no idea if they are any good or not.

I use windsurfing gloves that have the palm area missing. You can flip a finger out in half a sec and are totally waterproof and warm. Like these ones https://www.thesupco.co.uk/supwear/ion- ... 3EQAvD_BwE

I like that idea. Might give that a go.

I'm with chew, it's what noses were made for, looks extra special when you have to use it to do the unlock pattern
