This coming Monday Tom and I are going to embark on a 4500 km ride around France inspired by the 1955 TdF route.
There's a Spot tracker link in the second post.

I'd seen it was coming up on Instagram but it hadn't sunk in just how epic a ride this is. Are you averaging over 100 miles/day? Truly inspirational

Are you averaging over 100 miles/day?
Yep, that's the plan. I imagine with 55,000 metres of climbing it will be the toughest thing we've done.

Any reason for choosing the 1955 route?
Sounds all rather exciting, so now 'following' you on instagram
Edit! If I read your blog, then it would answer my question

What a brilliant idea for a summer adventure. Often thought about this, but, as you identified, the modern tours are not a continuous route, making the logistics complex. Hope the weather isn't too hot and thundery!

Just picked up your thread. It's a great idea. I've had a notion for quite a while to ride the route of the 1963 Tour when I retire. Just inspired me to do some research. In case anyone wonders, I was born in 1963.
Have a great trip. Will follow with interest.
