That trick didn't work 3 years ago I doubt it will this year either, the place was rammed that night.

As you say, a lot of the fun of this game is fiddling about with and honing your gear - I just sadly got a bit obsessed
I'm of the same mind Reg. It's obviously a very broard church but personally, I enjoy the challenge of trying to reduce what I carry while still carrying enough to remain functional / safe. I derive a certain satisfaction from it, especially if savings can be made via a process of thought and experimentation rather than simply shopping for something lighter.
What have been your best/favourite/most ingenious savings Stu?

I suppose most are quite small but the sum of their parts add up. Perhaps the biggest single saving was when I discovered that I don't really need to eat (much).

Probably too far for me this year Steve - fitness and man flu will be restricting me to something a lot more modest. I'll also be (modestly) doing that Hafren singletrack though. :-bd

hmmmm, I'm having thoughts of bailing. My knee is a bit iffy - not terrible, but could really do with a bit of rest and gentle rehab. It's seems a lot of effort to drive near 500 miles to do say 50km in Wales... :|

Got a 120Km base route that heads around places we've not been to before. There's options to do more on or off-road as conditions/time/arsedness dictate.

I'm assuming the "Hafren singletrack" is the BW leading east from here http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=285592 ... &A=Y&Z=120 ?

No Bob. There is some singletrack down there but it's not shown on the map - only small parts of it are. People are referring to the section through Hafren from last years BB200. A delightful few km of hidden gems :-bd

Not sure I can make the Star on Friday night. Work of course
Once again work gets in the way of play :???:

Small comfort is that I’m taking my bike and kit with me to Austria and hope to find some snow to play on later

Look forward to reading the tales of woe and triumph over the coming week

All sorts of things hurt on me. Mostly down to old age. Get yourself down there you know you won't regret it

I don't want to live in a world where zip ties aren't the answer...
