I've made quite a few pole sets for the X-Mid over the last few months ... folk with 'em do seem to like them.

Yours for $30,000...

It says 'touring bike', so those racks won't get hammered off road? The alloy ones , used off road, cracked at the welds *; which was the whole reason why direct mounted (saddle, framer ,etc) Were came about with just straps not clips & clamps. :ugeek:

*Which is why I don't understand why they keep reappearing?

They do a version in more regular, somewhat more affordable fabrics:

https://durstongear.com/product/x-mid-1p

$240 ish

I'd not heard of them until I saw mention on here and then went down the www-rabbithole of reviews etc. V1 seemed to be well liked but a bit heavy (relative), tight for head room for some at either end and on the narrow side. There was also a lot of love for it from many others.

Wish Stu would get one and do a review

No need to worry about the price as I expect them to sell out in the first day, so unless you stay up tonight to order one as soon as they come online then they'll be sold out by the time we get up tomorrow morning.

As trailled on bikepacking.com, I like the look of this as an ATB. Spot on geometry for it. Pricing not bad for a made in UK frame either:

Yep and I'll be expecting an influx of pole orders.

I do like the look of that.

Hmmm, ATB, is that the same as a mountain bike as it looks slacker/more aggressive than my mountain bikes or is ATB a flat bar gravel bike?

I spotted that, I had an email, they must be on the east side? I still can't afford one though so need to sell out so I'm not tempted

Well, I quite like the ATB manifesto on bikepacking.com https://bikepacking.com/plog/atb-manifesto/ so I mean in that kind of vein, making a good many purpose bike..?

Bit tight between tyre and seat tube that - be nicer if it was bent = slacker seat angle and so more comfortable. Still good that folk are doing such stuff as it will fulfill most peoples off road needs and not require a rebuild every other ride. Pity it wasn't SS-able

Yeah, it does look like it'd make a fun SS.

Tyre clearance reminds me of my Fireline.

For a triangle of tubes it does look quite ..... "purposeful" :???:

Would need risers or more spacers for me but then I like riding a Ms-Daisy-shopper

Quite like this new 'adventure' bike from Kenesis. Although "recognised the need for an adventure mountain bike" does kind of make me think they're in some way missing the point of all mountain bikes

I missed this in the Bespoked reports. I went to a talk the other night by Dan Farrell, head of engineering at Moulton. It was excellent and he finished up with a slide on this bike, due out later this year. I daren't ask the price (7k?) but I wondered if it might be the most amazing roadpacker out there. Low luggage positioning, zero stiction rotational rubber suspension forks and simple URT adjustable rear sus, 40C tyres and new geometry that looks spot on. Discs F+R are new for them. The fork is genius (has a little sprung bobble as a lockout that unlocks over a bigger bump, so simple). I'm a sucker for truss frames, girder forks and UK-made engineering like this. I want one (with 2x11). edit, and with a suitably stylish travel case, of course.

:-bd Always like Moultons, despite being firmly of the "more is more" view for wheel sizes. The girders look nice and something I've always reckoned would be a good option for bicycles with decent pivots (i.e not AMPS or Girvans)

Is that a folding function in the main triangle? I mean virtual main triangle. Top tube pivot, down turned screw lock thingy..
(Cables on bayonet fitting etc.)

I assumed it was as no adult bike, other than a folder, looks like that or uses small wheels

It can be separated rather than folded. Slower than a folding bike but has easy travel potential.

Are they still obsessed with making their freehubs deliberately noisy ?
Shame as still using an XC hub that must be nearing 20 year old, possibly even more

Spot the quiet freehub fan

6 pawls and 108 points of engagement might make the ratchet sound higher pitched and quieter? I guess if not it will just be a case of splurging a load of grease in there....
Of more interest is that it looks like they have come up with a way of sealing the freewheel to the hub body - always a crap feature of the Pro2's-4's.

Anyone want to buy 6 hope pro 4's?

I'm struggling to see how these are 6 times better than my exustar trad leather road shoes (12 years old and still going strong)....
Nice practical colour though
