What did you go for?
Re: anyone got a fatbike?
Surly Pugsley.
It's what I borrowed and I can't remember a bike feeling so right from the outset since about 1990!

Ref Fat Bikes
"it was here when (how can I word this nicely) a “portly” fellow in an XXL full team Radobank kit over took me on the sand near the edge of the sea on a lighter bike with its 2″ wide tyres that I had the 2 following thoughts.
1) It’s official Fat bikes are terrible at Beach Racing in Holland.
2) And the Dutch have found a way to beat the laws of physics. How can they float and keep their wheels turning much quicker and easier than I can?"
Blog warning

I've gone and put knobbly tyres on it now to convert it back to a fun bike rather than a racer

I read that this morning on fatbike Europe, they must have a special type of sand!JohnClimber wrote:Ref Fat Bikes

I'd also like to see the results from a larger representative sample.voodoo_simon wrote:JohnClimber wrote:Ref Fat Bikes

To be a true beach race it should ahve sections of soft sand, sections of head sized boulders and lots of sea weed. And penalty points for carrying!
