Oh no on the contrary - as a graphic designer Dee has lots of computers at her disposal and I have a (slightly old, well loved) Macbook ... I think I've been good.

There are 1 of 3 conclusions here
- her trip is a proper bargain
- your feed bags are limited edition gold leaf ones
- you've been stitched up and should have ordered more kit

Exposure TraceR has just arrived. This is to use on my MTB when I've not got the Revo/Dynamo on the bike to power the Red Eye , which is now and for the foreseeable future as the hubs away for warranty repair/replacement

It's the same shape lens as the Red Eye which is good as the smooth shape means when I wipe across it with my hand to clear the mud off (when reaching a road) it actually cleans it off, some of my other lights (now on the road bike) have a recessed lens and this traps a layer of mud obscuring the light output. Exposure claim a run time of 24 hrs on low and flashing. A quick test under my desk at work seems to show low is plenty bright enough for most conditions and if turned on and off as required that should be plenty of run time for a multi-day trip.

Oh wow, that sort of stuff has got down to consumer price levels. Just looked it up, so uses a load of sensors and cameras for stabilisation? That's easier than a gyroscopic stabiliser!!

Couple of little purchases arrived this week…

Ultralight Cuben Fiber Led Camping Lantern as recommended by Mr Climber, super-lightweight (9g) and easily bright enough for use in a tarp/tent/bothy

Image

A pack-away rucksack for trips to The Spar to carry all those essential Ginsters I mean salads when out riding

Image

Both cheap as chips, weigh nothing but will make life a little easier.

Genesis Longitude frame and fork combo (2017 version). Before buying wasn't too sure about the paint-job (main colour is stone, with an unusual urban DPM pattern in places); loads better in 'real life'!

And delivered my revelate feedbags, I got stung for customs £15 making them rather expensive with the postage from the land of trump. But they are extremely well made. The only down side is that my esbit pot is just a fraction too big to fit
