Just seen Sam touting a forthcoming revision of the Gryphon (Mk3):

Artist's impression:

£950 delivered to the UK but asking for a £500 down payment (anyone involved in the Roosters might be a bit twitchy about that).

I still run my Mk1 and it's a lovely bike (IMO). Can't see anything about the Mk3 changes that would "justify" a swap (slightly better design for big tyres) and the purchase of a Goldrush kinda covers the "gravelier" bases (TBH it's the closest I'll ever come to owning a road bike).

Funny how it's triggered a bit of bike lust though

Nice to see Singular with a website again and a range of bikes for sale. The new incarnations of the steel classics are very lovely, and I always lusted after a Gryphon. The price is pretty steep, but not silly. Think a new steel Swift is coming in the future too, which is good.

Now I really want someone to make some alloy Surly Open bars so that something like a Gryphon can run drop-like bars with MTB bits, without being £100 and 750g. :-bd

My guess is partially based on Bearlegged being local to them.

Looks good but far too long = 613mm ETT in my size (Fargo was 580, Straggler 590). He says its designed for a short stem but I use a short stem on the Straggler. I've noticed the latest gen of Cotics are all very long which is baffling as an aero riding position isn't really what you want for screaming down steep hills is it??
Oh well good for people with gorilla arms I 'spose.

My opinion matters not but looking at the pictures (and I appreciate that they're only pictures), the bars look very low compared to the saddle and the brake levers only much use if braking from the hoods. Neither of those things are what I'd want when riding drops off-road. Perhaps it just makes it appear less odd and more appealing for pictures?
