I had one of the first generation mats. Had no trouble for 11 months then (luckily) it started to leak while still inside it's warranty period. When I contacted ULOG their response was something like ... bloody hell, I thought we'd seen the last of these things, yours must be a good one ;)

In general POE mats are actually very good and would happily use another model but I wouldn't trust another Peak Elite. The change of company name from POE to Hyalite didn't really instill much confidence either.

Fingers crossed mine is one of the good ones :D

EDIT: Contacted SportsPursuit and cancelled the order. They don't keep stock and only order from the supplier once the "sale" is finished...which is why it takes 2-4 weeks to get stuff (and possibly a lot longer in this case!)

Might just spend £6 on another foil-foam sheet and MTFU :D

FWIW, the leak seems to develop at the "weld" line and, like I said, the new ones aren't supposed to be out until 2014.

Doesn't really seem worth the chillyness over a small down or synthetic bag as it weighs 1.13kg with even my fairly heavy softie 3 weighing less at 900g, just begs the question why?
(i will agree that it is a very good price though)

Energizer Lithium AAs 48p at Morrison's

Post by johnnystorm »

Well, after all my bleating about wanting to save money and use rechargeable batteries in my spot tracker I pop into Morrison's today and they have Energizer Ultimate lithium AAAs for 48p a pair. Only two packets on the shelf dammit. Use by date of 2025 so not that old stock. ;) No Lithium AAs for my Garmin sadly. :(

Might be national? Worth keeping an eye out....

Hike-lite are have a closing down sale. There's some good bargains but sizes are limited ... I've just bought a Montane Krypton jacket for £29. Everything's reduced not just stuff under the clearance section, so it's worth taking a few minutes to nosey about ;)

Use code: CLEARANCE for an extra 5% off too.
