Dusty appears off route as well. He’s on the road when the trail goes onto the singletrack of the GGW. Hopefully he’ll reverse out, or it’s just a tracking error.

Nelson Trees was through Strathcarron 2 hrs ago (from fb), so probably close to Dornie by now, so sitting fourth

Saw that. An unfortunate ping!! That entrance to the GGW is easily missed, especially in the dark.

You can't judge where one rides in detail by the tracking points.
Check again zoomed in and see what his dot does exactly

Hope Jenny is ok. It seems a little worrying after all that to-ing and fro-ing last night and now she hasn't pinged for 9 and half hours. I was wondering if the dithering last night was her trying to decide whether to bail out to Poolewe or stay on the trail. Maybe a mechanical or a minor injury?

I was just in the middle of typing a reply and I noticed she's on the move again!

Looking closer at her track, I think she pulled an all-nighter the night before, so a longer sleep last night would be expected.

Definitely a ping on the road - his GPX track will tell all, hopeful he back tracked and hopefully he also followed the final singletrack section of the GGW across the road just before you descend back to the canal (many people have missed this bit!) There is a big time gap between that dot and the next one so he must have stopped for a bit and plenty time to correct route errors......

Looks like Jenny may be walking?? hard to tell :???:

Jenny only seems to have covered about half a km in the last half an hour, so definitely not the speed you'd be expecting. A bad case of cankles maybe? 3 other riders coming along who will catch up with her in a couple of hours if she stays at that pace.

Revelate put this pic up of Dusty yesterday, seems happy and he's not riding fat treads. Talk about riding light!

That's a real shame if Jenny is having to walk out now after all that effort.

He appears to have more gear than some set out with Jeff ... could be the reason he's still out there.

There was a tweet of Karls setup somewhere preride and it was rather light (although I understand that he would have had some bits in his backpack but still...).... lemme finds it

It's been noted.

The speed of the ping is my worry -from memory, 7.8mph is not the speed I'd expect on that part of the trail.

Pretty sure that was the pic (i downloaded it when spotted it online) of Karls setup... maybe he had extra water in a camelbak aswell but I imagine he would have definitely had backpack regardless.. Slick as he's still out there :-bd

Sidenote, James Hayden had 3 sets of (what appeared to be) winter/waterproof gloves as well as a kit list that was obviously gonna be a heavy affair. Might be the reason why he's still out there too

Amazing all them riders including the scratches...

But would that be an average from his previous ping (he was missing a few at that point)? Fingers crossed it's all OK.

It should be yes. Still somewhat high for that section. But he is somewhat fast, and stuborn :)
