A second hand but as new Inbred 29er frame in orange flavour Just like the one I had two years ago. I didnt get on with it as a trail bike, but this one is getting my ECR fork on it and will be a dedicated bikepacky bike that will also do some loaded touring. And probably the shopping.

Ok, so ive sent the iharborot cache battery back. The USB port was way too flimsy and the power to the GPS kept cutting out bumping down the Teign valley on the edge of Dartmoor ( Not that you need a GPS to find your way down there). Today I received a more expensive Zendure A3 with two ports. The case is much more rugged/weatherproof and the usb connections much more snug; so it seems it will be able to stand up to the abuse its going to receive.

I have my cook kit in my alpkit feed bag and find I can turn right with no problem but the pot does stop a full turn to the left. Could be a real issue on the trail.

My last planned bikepacking specific purchase (yeh right!) arrived today. 2 alpkit stem cells (not XL) and a large fuel pod to be used in anger on my little trip in April from Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness.Despite my worries my esbit titanium 650ml mug/stove fits easily in and out. All in a nice matching chilli colour and look great.

One thing I assumed was that the stem cells would have drain holes on the bottom as they're essentially open topped. Has this been an issue with anyone or have you maybe burnt a few little holes through? Can't imagine them filling with water,but I would have though in any significant rain you might get a puddle in the bottom.

I thought of than when planning it out with a mock up as the bag is tapered down to the lens


So, even at this angle the padding doesn't touch the top tube

And if you go down on that side, the lens hitting the top tube will save the levers from doing so........

That's why I took out the few extra quid extra camera insurance against such accidents

I used one last year with a water bottle in it and in rain and when clumsy about not closing the nozzle of the bottle you get a puddle in the bottom of the bag but it's not significant and soaks in/dries out. They're not waterproof so even if you filled it up with water it should over time just drain out anyway.

Ctznsmith thanks for that. Assumed it would drain throw eventually, just wasn't wanting it filling up as plan to have cook kit in one and snack bars in the other, though a bottle maybe better to ensure I drink!

Praxis cassette as the new chain is skipping on my oldish XT cassette.

New shoes for Dan but no sign of his cleats. Thought I'd try them on.
