... And brought me a new soldering iron so I can finish my switched charging / light Dynamo thingy, for which I need to think of a more catchy name...

It's going to be more of a tube than a box, but let's not go there with the product* names just yet.
* to be fair, this is likely to be a one off for yours truly rather than a production item

Ian, we need some pics.
So the postie has brought me:
XT pedals for the commuter, so I can put the borrowed pedals back on the FSR.
3T carbon bars and a stem for the good road bike, and a new headset.
And a pack of files to sharpen the chainsaw (been doing a lot of log store building, log cutting and splitting recently - must have 12 cubes of logs split and stored so far, with another 8 to go.)

Not got much to show at the moment. Most of my evenings have been spent thinking how I want to do it. Anyway, here's something that verifies that one of my ideas works:

I'll do a pictorial sequence of the finished article.

At last my birthday sleeping bag arrived! PhD K-series minim 400in long with drishell outer. What a *u*king vaguely exciting piece of gear! Nobody warned me that 1000fp down is more springy than a springy thing from springdom!

Postman bought a parcel - unfortunately it arrived in luca's birthday so we had to have a rather delicate discussion of ownership and the differences of i's and l's in various fonts . . .
He has assured me it's lovely though!

I'll hold off posting a pic of my delonghi coffee grinder and instead mention the 36t oval ring, XT 11spd cassette, derailleur and shifter, KMC chain and pair of conti X King protections that are being put to one side until just before the TD.
The X kings were only 20 quid each so I ought to put that up in the bargain thread. First time I've had them and they feel a real quality product.

Snook this in today to avoid the fun police......
After intermittent charging and loose connection problems on my 5 year old Troutie Lumen Liberator it's time to spend the last of my Christmas bonus before the wife grabs it.
It may be chunky but it's only as big as my old battery pack and it can last up to 36 hours on it's lowest setting, and my god it's super bright on full power

You can also work out which year of manufacture it is by counting the ridges on the heatsink

Also, a new chain and a shadow mech.
