Looks like quite a few roads in the North Pennines round Weardale. A long way from home though!

Maybe not enough graffiti on the tarmac for it to be Cragg Vale.

I'm guessing the B3212.

Colour for me too btw.

Spot on.

Looks like colour is the winner, too.

Somewhere around that pub that reckons its fire has been going since 1066 or something?

Thanks Greg,

Never figured out how to do it via phone.

I'm about to send you a long and rambling email...

Handheld after much settings fiddling with the not so good in the dark camera. From my bi-annual navigation instructing at the FRA Nav. weekend. This time, Kettlewell.

Photo was during the night nav exercise. In pairs, 1:5k map, 3km course.

Took ages till one pair came in like this so that one was illuminating the other!

Not a photo to be proud of ......... but if anyone is thinking of a new action camera, here's a still that I took from my new GoPro Hero 5 when in 4k movie mode (I've quickly edited slightly in PhotoShop elements to "bring it to life")

Yes the grass needs cutting and FYI it was taken in it's Linear setting so no fish-eye affect.
The quality is fantastic considering the size of the camera.

It always takes me ages to get round to processing, organising and uploading photos, but I cleared a bit of a backlog at the weekend so here's a couple from February.

A mate of mine climbing Jack's Rake in Langdale with me the other week:

Took my manual focus 80-210mm to the beach for a play. The hound in full flight:

And not a great photo but more bikepacking related - an ill-advised random bridleway exploration. I've never known mud so sticky:

Shot with the A7r, 50mm Rokkor @f/11. 1/13sec, iso400.
This is the Jpeg pretty much straight out of the camera, a little bit of VIBRANCE and cropped to 5x4, my preferred aspect ratio(old habits and all that  ) The camera is capable of amazing detail capture, and the colour fidelity is pretty accurate too. Another hang up from shooting film is that I prefer to set the WB at daylight setting(in Kelvin) and leave it alone. After so many years of shooting sheet film one develops an ability to see much as your film stock does, consequently if need be I am happy(prefer) to use warm up/cool down filters rather than deal in post. YMMV.
Pretty pleased with the camera's output. Not the greatest composition I grant you, but that wasn't my objective today!! It was pouring down so I took the " get a few shots on the tripod before the camera drowns" approach.
For those interested, the detail in the raw file is quite the thing :-bd

Some suburban singletrack from one of my extended commutes:

Rare conditions in the Cairngorms:

And again, less photographic merit but back on topic... more usual conditions in the Cairn Gorms:

And a fully stocked mini bar (I was inordinately happy when I realised that hip flask fitted perfectly in that pocket. Even more so when it stayed in after a full day's technical riding):

The wifey was in the gym on her due date! The look on the instructors face was priceless

Love that photo Ian Fitz, didnt look much on the old phone but on the proper PC, it's a great shot
