As an early adopter to Outdry I think it's still by far the best, only equaled by Gore's Shakedry if you need a lighter and smaller pack size for the warmer months.

In the short time I've had to search Omni dry is Columbia's version of Goretex
But looking here Goretex looks to be better but as expected also more expensive

Again I've not found it in the time I've had but I would say that Omni dry needs re proofing as do all other water proofs with a durable water repellent coating.......

So in summary

I’ve got one of them and I both like and dislike it. It is slightly too short with no drop tail, and I’ve been very cold in it compared to other jackets. I don’t know whether this is because it breathes particularly well. There is no hood stowage either so the whole thing blows up like the Michelin man when in a breeze. It does also look like a condom.

However, it’s completely waterproof, even at the elbows where all my other jackets seem to fail.

There are a few different types of Superfeet insoles currently reduced on Sport Pursuit for anyone who is a fan of them. I picked up a pair of the red thermal ones to put in my snowboard boots (to save having to nick the green ones out of my normal footwear). I'd been planning to buy them at full price so to get them for roughly half that was a bonus.

Disclaimer.

• I am helping Neris with their Pack Raft launch and development here in the UK.

• I'm not getting paid but I have had 3 demo boats from them that I have not paid for, for me to use and also to let people test paddle up here in the North West.

• I am helping them develop a TPU range of lightweight pack rafts that are coming off the laser cutting machine in 2 or 3 weeks time before going in to stock and then hopefully a bike pack rafting TPU pack raft at an affordable price point for this spring/summer.

At this moment in time Neris only have PVC pack rafts, these are great for paddles where you park your car or van near the water or you can walk up to a mile or so to the waters edge to have a paddle, or even car share down a river section.
These are NOT suitable for back pack rafting into the wilds or strapping to your bikes as they are 3 times heavier than TPU pack rafts and because they are PVC they are impossible to fold down small enough to carry too far on a bike.
But add the price of a PFD (Personal Floatation Device) - 4 piece paddle (easy to carry) to a TPU boat and it's hard to get change from £900 to £1000.

But I've worked out that only 20% of the time I actually need the lightweight and small folding TPU pack raft for my trips, most of the time I pack raft from my car or campervan or even walk to the local canal from home. So PVC cheaper pack rafts do have their place (80% of my paddling) and they are perfect to get you started on the pack rafting ladder, or if they you and your family are going to be treated roughly and bounced off rocks.
So it's N+1 on pack rafts too.
Start with a PVC one and watch this place for future lighter pack rafts.

As part of the launch I suggested a Bare Bones starter package, as Neris is one of the only 3 UK places that carry all the parts that you need and they are the only one of these places to offer a budget range to get you started on the pack rafting ladder.

Yes its a great price if that's what you are after, a fun play boat when you have transport to the waters edge.
The only pack raft that is 100% designed to carry a bike, that's made of TPU and packs small enough to be carried on a bike is the Alpacka Caribou.
But I'm helping Neris design a bike carrying TPU pack raft to rival the Caribou but come in at a better price point.
So watch this space, they are launching a TPU range shortly and these will be around 30 to 33% more expensive than their heavier and larger pack sized but much tougher PVC pack rafts.
Buy one of these PVC pack rafts for car and campervan paddling not for overland adventures, they are tough and perfect for a family play boat to test the water in the world of pack rafting without breaking the bank.
On this deal you get the paddle, pack raft, pump and PFD, there is nothing extra to buy.
TPU is coming soon and a bike carrying version will follow this summer.

I’ve been using one of these for a couple of months, they are a bit heavyweight for biking in temps around zero degrees but a good option when the wind chill takes the temps lower. It fits under a helmet fine.

The idea of of the being able to inflate it, by pulling it through the air to start inflating the boat & long tube/air sac. Sealing and rolling the long tube (like a air bag), to complete inflation is an amazing idea.

A bet 1 sqm of light tpu, a bit of tape buckle, takes up a bit less space a weights less

They've been using that inflation method on festival banana chairs for ages, haven't they?

I always felt there must be knack to it that I was not mastering (floppy nana).

Not sure these qualify as a "bargain" as per thread title, but I needed some thermals and bought them from this place. Made in Britain, amazingly perhaps, so I think £15 leggings & £17 tops is a bargain in that context.
