Rather than being in the field isn't the Bridleway down to the side of these fences, just in sight in the photos?

And shown here

I bloody hope so. These pictures were nearly enough to put me off...

The ROW appears to go between two fences/boundaries as far as I can make out from the screen shot if the map. Therefore it’s probably under the trees as JC says.

Yes John. Looks like you're onto a winner there. Seems like I took a wrong section so would have been disqualified anyway... Just aswell I chucked in the towel early

Here it is again. So I should've gone down the lane very briefly before joining the correct way further down. My bad (hangs head in shame)...

Yup. Explored it properly and concluded the same just now. Glad the farmer was nice and glad I didn't damage antthing whilst riding on through (except maybe trampled the grass but ...)

200k in 24hrs? Very simple....you don't need anything but caffeine, water, and a small amount of food. Everything on the required list, just pack the lightest stuff you can find and don't touch it. You simply grind it out. You'll be done in 16hrs.
Saw that too.
I think Stuart should give this guy a free entry so long as he posts up his ride review afterwards

That's pretty much the exact strategy that everyone aiming for a black badge will be following, although not everyone's going to be capable of a 16hr finish obvo.

That's sort of the point. There are very, very few riders that are capable of finishing in 16 hours.

This isn't a gravel race.

Anyone staying at the Fforest Inn next Friday? They're fully booked up so I'm assuming a few Boners will be present.

While searching Geograph.
I've found Manly Man's car parked on one of the "tracks" that are so easy only coffee, water and a small amount of food is needed

I think any BB event is easier when riding an armchair in front of the tv than being out in the actual Welsh hills. For a number of years the BB200 was the hardest single stage event in the UK. There aren’t many events with a minimum 5000m of climbing.

I think Phil Simcock finished in 14 hours in 2012 or 13. He’s a bit quick though!!

Looking forward to her post ride video...

She’s a south Devon rider now and her videos are fun to watch. I’m sure she will finish but I’d imagine she’d be better asking advice here than on YouTube.

Good luck everyone taking on the challenge this year.

Cheers Rob

I'm not even expecting an under 36 hours badge
Um, excuse me, that's me you're referring to. What you've said is just not true. I don't say I'm gonna do it in 17 hours at all.

Don't worry Juliet, no one here is having a pop and JC is a teddy bear who has already been corrected.
I'm sure you'll do fine, it's a mental challenge more than anything.
The point being made is a general one of the BB200 often having a bite bigger than its bark. From experience I can say that 200km that I would breeze on home territory has been a grueller for me in BB200 terms.
Lots of advice on here if you want it.

I've just re watched it and I'm sorry

Humble Pie time,
It was Dave who said 17 hours and you were shocked, you said under 24 hours is a good achievement.

Sorry again and I've just message you an apology too

I'm leaving it until then for the full moon, also, my hands are still numb from the CL so hopefully they'll recover a bit by then.

I have missed the social side of things this year, I'd decided I needed to do more social events, I'd even entered the Jenride and was really looking forward to stopping at every pub.

I've been plotting out an overnighter from Sheffield. 95km, at least 6 pubs, not counting the start/finish.
