Stress is the worst for trying to lose fat. Messes with your body so much.

That's before you get into the comfort eating aspect.

Me and The Boy have dropped onto the Low Carb High Fat thing having read Eat Bacon, Don't Jog ....
Mitch is a BIG UNIT (read 'fat bastard') about 6'1" but 23st 6lb.
We've tried all sorts before but results have been meagre and short lived.
Well, he is fair chuffed. We started at the start of Jan but he's only been keen this last 2 weeks (last Weds we all went for a curry , poppadoms, starter, curry, rice, nan bread and beer ..... so we weren't exacly being strict.)
This morning he weighed in at 22st 3lb .... and he's over the moon :) We're pretty much on 2 meals a day and a 16hour fast.... off the carbs completely.
He has a lot to lose so knows this is a bit false, but he's so happy .... as am I :)

I quite like the fasting thing. I always used to snack like crazy / food was always on my mind.

Now I just don't eat until 5pm in the evening at the earliest (unless I'm cycling)... and that's just the way it is.

We eat at maybe 19:00 then nothing much until 12:30-13:00
I have a fatty coffee about 07:00 .... but that's it.

That's great. You likely find that as you go on, you'll become less hungry. The only thing I would say is, expect a period when you feel tired even with very moderate exercise but it'll soon pass as you adapt and the occasional mood swing but again, that won't last long.

Just for info... the whole bulletproof coffee thing has long since been debunked. Of course, it wont harm you, so if you enjoy it, carry on. But there's no actual advantage to it.

I take my coffee black, without sugar, and LOTS OF IT.

I suspect I may be there (unless it's too soon.) I commute every day and feel generally VERY well .... but hills seem to be harder work than I'd expect... I'm sure it'll pass :)

I don't think I could do butter in the coffee but tbh the spoon of coconut oil is quite palatable and just tastes like a coffee from Costa. :) It froths up really well :)

mmmmhhh Really?, butter coffee is something i have been doing for over 2yrs now AND let me tell ya, if you are Keto it is like rocket fuel, i can ride most of the day on one! and as far as weight is concerned .. i have Nowt to lose.
Anything can be 'Debunked' if 'conventional' science (or none at all) is being used, i don't just read stuff and think thats how it is, i have experimented with all kinds or things Keto for the last 2 n a half years, and IF you use conventional (carbo) wisdom you will NEVER get to the truth about Keto or any type of fat based Low carb way of eating.

FYI, one experiment was 3000 calories per day in, weight stayed the same, then 5000+ per day for over 2 weeks, again weight stayed the same But i looked more muscular, Explain me that?
also christmas time 2016 i added carbs to my diet for 3 days, with 14lbs weight gain!!! YEP 1 full stone of crap weight in 3 days.

i suggest anyone criticising the LCHF/Keto way of eating to try it themselves (properly) before listening to 'Debunking' rhetoric off the tinternt, it simply works! ... IF you do it properly  :-bd

Not debunking LCHF... before anyone gets sensitive.

However, bulletproof coffee was used in a study of people already on LCHF and tests showed no significant difference. However, if the placebo works for you, then more power to you. ;)

Coffee with a chunk of butter and coconut oil in it.

Or at least that's how it started, then it turned into a bullshit marketing exercise for "Brain Octane" and XCT Oil.

Aye, I know what MCT oil is, the point is that the whole thing has turned into a marketing exercise. Same for the beans.

I'm with you Richard - coffee (and tea) should be black with nothing, I mean nothing, added.

Ive been very good this week. Fast marching 45 min walks with the dog every morning. Two short but intense (for me) rides. No crisps for lunch. So rather than wait till next week as I'm away with work, I stepped on the scales just now and things are finally heading in the right direction.

01.01.17 98kg
15.01.17 98kg
30.01.17 98.5kg
04.02.17 97.7kg

Next week will be challenging. I'm doing a roadshow - six cities in three days - Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and North London - so lots of time in cars and three nights in Premieri Inns with their full English breakfasts. Hope they have porridge.

Forget that. Just eat the bacon, sausage and eggs - honestly.
