They just replied saying two weeks for new batch of Solaris' but no other info about any change of spec etc... so assuming they're standard.

You may want to have a look at the new Kona Unit too...

Ragley big wig. Not got a huge triangle, but a great mile muncher, comfortable, springy fun ride, climbs ok, desends like few other hard tails. Cheap second hand.

2.25" Ardents/Arch EX vs 3" Trail Boss/Scraper is apples and oranges so I can't honestly give a meaningful response I'm afraid (never ridden the Sherpa on 29s). 3" more comfort than 2.25" thoughHow does the rear feel of Solaris vs. Sherpa? Any difference in comfort to be noted?

Yup, my order went in yesterday. Frames arrive Monday and my bike is due for dispatch on the Thursday.

I know how you feel Ben, I've a set of Alpkit plus wheels for mine as well as the standard 29er hoops. Mind you, the Mk1 is still a cracking bike.

Well, I wasn't exactly overjoyed when I found out it was boost (I'd even bought 12x142 converters for my Evo2's in anticipation) and my Sherpa rear is also 142 so neither existing wheel set will work...
I've had a while to get used to the idea and the 35mm rims/2.8" rear tyre will reduce the weight of scrapers and 3" (other than I've only gone tough compound tyres....).
Guess I've just got big windows....
