No, we'll have to be brave ... although I'm hoping we may encounter a pub a little later

We will have to be wet :) FTFY.
Noted one should rock on up prepared for zero services. "May" in mid-Wales usually says to me "Good luck".

If conditions are favourable, is everyone happy kipping above 500m?*
*I shouldn't really need to ask but I feel that given the amount of effort and organising going on down south, I should at least ask the odd question.

That'll be chilly.
What the temps like at the moment near you?

Pretty cold out of the sun, probably around zero ... I'm banking on an inversion and it being warmer higher up.

Unsure yet. I assume you'd like your tent bringing if I am? If not, I can post it down?

No worries about going high from this end of the stick. After seeing Bala @ -7C last night, I'm wondering if there's merit in some studded tyres this year. What's the on/off road ratio looking like Stu?

If we go where I'm thinking, I'd estimate a 60/40 in favour of off-road. Hopefully it won't be a boggy mess but there might be a shortish section of trackless, heathery fun but it shouldn't be more than a km ... and I'm hoping there is a path of some sort

Ta for that. I'd rather no repeats of my visit to the floor of Twixmas from years past.

Aye, I didn't envy that.

Double FECK our biggest customer has decided that their database upgrade happens on the 11th November. I'll be winter bivying in front of a terminal

If it stays still Stu there was a 4 degree difference between sea level and 250m here this morning - cold in the valley.

Forecast is looking quite favourable so far, not too windy, only a little rain on Sat and fairly mild overnight (quite different from last year)
Anyway, I'll pop out tomorrow for a final recce which will determine exactly where we go and under what hedge we spend the night. I will contact those who were wishing to join the main party after work with details of our overnight location.
Over and out.
