I got stem cell and 650ti mug from alpkit for xmas. The 650 fits in the stem cell. It is a fairly tight fit but not unreasonably so. I haven't taken measurements but they do fit and alpkit says on their site that the 650 is designed to fit in the stem cell, so if you have probs get back to alpkit.

I don't know, just seemed logical. As someone who makes things by hand, I can testify that very rarely are two items ever exactly the same.
