Gears = fat bike
SS = 29er

There's a small issue of the 29er not having a back brake at the moment as it seized up and being Shimano has had to go off to the menders. But then, I guess fixed is an option :???:

Maybe I'll go on the fat bike :-bd
Although there's always the Stoater - easier to carry than the fat bike :lol:

I'll be happy if I finish. Don't really care if I'm 8 hours behind the next person as long as my body holds up (especially my knee).

You could always ask Stu for a loan of the Super Shopper if you want a challenge :)

I'm out as I've broke my wrist. :|

Had a few good weekends lined up that I was looking forward to after a summer full of biking.

So no Polaris, or riding on the club weekend I've organised as well as missing out on the BB200.

The good news is that two people on the reserve list will be happy :grin: (My wife was going to be doing the event too).

Just about to email Stu
I'll look forward to reading about everyone's ride afterwards. Have fun.

Did 136 miles (mostly on tarmac) over 12.5 hours yesterday. That's my last huge ride before the event and it's given me a lot of confidence because there's no way in hell I'll be pushing as hard as I did yesterday for my 24 hour pace (and I still felt amazing after 12 hours with basically no breaks).

I still wont be fast, but I've got a lot more confidence that I can actually finish.

Edit - Oh, and my groin is still a bit numb after yesterday. I think I need to spend at least a minute every half hour stood up, but this should be much less of an issue on full on off road.

Right, after 10 days of being home alone with the kids I'm finally getting back on the bike tomorrow.

Planning something long (likely more so in hours than miles due to the alpineness of round here) and decidedly 'climby' (more likely 'walky' which should be good prep).

Planning on tomorrow and then hopefully another half-TMB bikepacking trip at the end of the week in order to scrape the remnants of fitness from my failing body before the 'big event'.

I am slow and fat (again) which is disappointing but only fair keeping in mind just how much craft ale I've consumed this summer.

But I'll bloody well finish this year, I tell thee!!!

I've spent most of today carrying 15kg dumbbells up and down stairs. I figure that's probably as close as I can come to training to carry my bike up hills as I can without leaving the house. :lol:

Off for a week of "mental" training tomorrow. A week aboard with the inlaws :shock: but there is free bike hire so not all bad.

Walked up a steep hill with my fully laden bike yesterday.....alas a severe lack of tussocks! A leisurely (if thats possible)YD200 at the weekend. Hope I recover in time!

After pushing my bike for a bit yesterday I'm wondering if there's a good way of carrying a bike that's got a frame bag in it. I really do think it would have been easier if I'd got it across my shoulders somehow.
