I'll be using it at the BB200, hopefully we'll both make around! I'll let you know...

Im resurrecting this thread as ive lost my Joystick on a ride.

A lot of people recommend the fenix hm65, ive got the feeling the Fenix HM75R might be a bit heavy.
I never had issues with the Joystick although i found the battery to perhaps not last as long as id have expected.

Is there a way to use the fenix hm65 on the handlebar? (E.g. from a gopro mount?)

To justify the high price, I’d expect a big improvement on :

Fiddly buttons, proprietary charger needed, can’t change battery, average ouput/beam pattern and poorly implemented programming.

For the last 3 years I’ve been using a £40 moon light which also isn’t perfect but is just as bright, has a better beam, replaceable battery and is USB charging.
Is this the one you recommended me Rudedog. I can confirm, I think it's brilliant. USBc charging and I've attached it with some GoPro type 3m very high bond (VHB) fixing tabs. So when I need it and I just click the torch into place.

Buttons a bit fiddly but it allows me to change the beam output to ensure it lasts a very long time. Use it as my backup with a Strada Exposure on the bars. Lasted me the whole of the BB200 this year and I rode most of the night (a couple of stops for about 15 mins each but even then the really low output allows me to make full use of the torch).

Getting a hood over it might be tricky but I just put the hood under the helmet. Thanks again for the recommendation

My experience of the Fenix HM75R SE is pretty good so far. Initially it did feel a little heavy but I quickly forgot about it on the BB2200. It's plenty bright enough with a decent spot and toggling through the settings is easy with cold hands as it's got a big dial on the side.

The mount is excellent and hasn't budged. it's stuck with 3M tape to the front of my helmet - light slots securely in with no movement at all. The reason for buying it was to try and get my hood and zip done up on my waterproof - works nicely but it didn't rain on the BB200 so it's yet to be fully tested.

Fernix do high capacity batteries now, both can be recharged internally using USBC I'd imagine that it'd work with a dynamo (I don't have one)

I did switch to a velcro mount recently but I nearly ripped my head off when it got caught on a low branch... so yeah, could do with a bit more thought there.

(Oh, and you can recharge the Exposure lights via USB, but it's very slow)

Edit - I used to use a small 18650 cell torch, which worked fairly well too. I imagine they're even better now.
Ah yes I remember the B150, forgot my lights and bought 3 torches to see with.
