Ditto. I'd rather be too warm than too cold I think.
But "too warm" can also mean too heavy. I'm torn on the super lightweight uninsulated mat, or the Exped winter mat.....

At this time of year the ground still hasn't fully warmed up so a decent mat is definitely in order. A better mat gives more bangs per gramme than a better bag.

I'm a bloater, not a weight weenie... and tbh the warm down bag packs nearly as small as my cheaper synth less warm bag ... I have the new Thermarest mat to try so quite excited!
