What are you folk riding it on then?

I'm going to brave the rough stuff out on the Camino, for the speed advantage on the smoother bits. Never could work out what was faster on the BB's, Fatty one year gravel another. I've found the yd's to generally be less extreme apart from the odd bit and the extra speed has outweighed the extra comfort for me.

Hopefully this week's rain forecast won't make me regret this decision.

I saw Stuart Ryders 'gravel bike friendly' comment and decided to take the Jones.... I did idly contemplate the straggler given the amount of road and forest road riding but went with comfort over speed.

Having ridden a gravel bike on some of those tracks before, I'm going for comfort over speed and taking the Scandal. Given my hands still haven't fully recovered from my romp around the Rebellion Way a few weeks ago, I'm in no mood to have sore hands halfway round. Slow (ish) and steady for me, so depending on what time I hit the Sainsbury's in Whitby will determine if I'm going to try and go all the way in a oner or not.

Rigid MTB and a minimal bivi. Most of the route is happily gravel bikeable, but I'm going for comfort.

There's one bit, where I think pretty much everyone will be walking, both up and then back down again...

Any of you local to the area? I'm wondering how the I assume bone dry trails and moorland paths will handle the rain that if forecast this week up there? Not sure if it's enough to be a problem or not. If I have to change bike plans I have 24 hours max to make the call.

Nope, I'm down in South Cambridgeshire. Unless it's apocalyptic rain, you'll be fine.

Not local, but have ridden there quite a bit. I would say it will do no more than dampen the dust a bit. And shorten the queue at the chippy in RHBay

Does anyone know if there's an outside tap at Dalby visitors centre? I'd guess there is but it'd be nice to know for certain

Dalby Visitor Centre has a drinking water tap. Evidently it's on the end of the building opposite the astronomy domes. So you want the Visitor Centre, which is after the Cycling Hub and Cafe area.

The route goes right passed Danby Lodge National Park Centre, so quite possibly.

I was packing the filter too, seems daft not to. Was planning on blasting straight though Danby, but that's a potential ice cream stop... 😋

Oooo... And bread pudding. 😋😋😋

Gotta keep on top of your fueling and nutrition on these things  I was planning on holding off to Robin Hoods bay for an ice cream however, it being by the sea.

Great ta, I've just called them and they do have an accessible drinking water tap, just in front of the toilet block.

I think there's one on the west side gable of the village hall at Hackness too ~ 143Km. Quite possibly Levisham station too ~ 187km.

Not just that, you're also supposed to enjoy yourself. I find an ice cream is a great mood booster... 🤣
