Have you ever experimented with an adjustable version Stu?
I've tried various things over the years Rich but never really been happy with any of them. They either reduce strength too much (which means increasing the pole weight to compensate) or slip.

"Racelite". Sounds like the marketing people have been getting involved  . I once bought some Conti tyres solely on the basis that they had "Supersonic" written on them  . Needless to say I never heard any sonic booms when riding with them so they were a complete waste of money.

Surely the source cant hear the sonic boom as you would have been riding away faster than the speed of sound so the sound cant catch you?

Merely an attempt to highlight the weight and the potential end user Reg  If there was marketing involved, I'd have used words like 'adventure' 'aero' and 'gravel'

Do aero poles make the wind move around the tarp smoother?

Sadly not but they do good service as tasty emergency rations....

Yes and help limit unwanted flappage.

Ultra light pole suitably tested on Monday night - seemed solid despite the tarps attempts at either flying away or flattening me. I did just shove it in my bag with other stuff which was a mistake. No harm done but there was a bit of carbon dust on the joints where it had rubbed against the pegs.... A separate bag needed, that's all.

PS - extra heavy pole for the hexamid worked a treat Stuart :-bd

Now tested on the Deschutes. I would say that the extra flexiness is noticeable - not a deal breaker by any means, but probably best not to try and haul the guy lines too tight.

Ta Phil. Yes, something like the Deschutes will be pushing the wall thickness a bit

It was fine Stu, mainly as in a break with my recent bivvies, the wind wasn't trying to blow me off the hillside....
