I was definitely more worried about moose on GDMBR having lived in Canada and seen how aggressive they can be. Had one run in with one before Fleecer and Wise Rivier and it is the closest I have ever come to literally pooping in my bibs.
Took nearly 20mins before I could progress past it. I was not in an area where I could get away easily due to....oh yea, another f'ing moose behind me.
Sleeping in bear country is dangerous, but it's not a high likely hood of interaction. Only bear I saw on the TDR was in New-Mexico. Lots of scatt, but no actual bears. Also agree with others - mountain lions are far more dangerous. And you're unlikely to know until you're being eaten.
