My son enjoys half a tin of cold beans as a "starter" (his words) while waiting for the other half to be served on two slices of butterd toast.
I personally, used to have pickled onions on top of my wheatabix with milk, so my mother tells me.
NO! Just no.

How do you know they're cold?Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 12:44 pm What is the world coming to. I've just seen the makers of Weetabix offer up cold baked beans on top of weetabix as a serving suggestion for breakfast. What is going on? Is it the fault of lockdown?
There's no indication in the photo I've seen that they are cold.

Many South Africans serve cold baked beans at a braai (barbeque) as a salad
If at first you don't succeed you're running about average!

I definitely used to have buttered Weetabix with chocolate spread along with a cup of tea when I was a kid . I also have to eat some of the beans cold from the tin before they go in the saucepan so going to get some Weetabix and see .

I think they actually said on Twitter that they're warm. Though I bet they didn't really heat them up for the photo.ripio wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 2:08 amHow do you know they're cold?Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 12:44 pm What is the world coming to. Anyway, Weetabix and bread are both just wheat re-assembled in different forms, so I can't see why putting beans on one is right and the other is wrong.

Not when it comes to lunch. Earlier this week, for example, I had some pearl barley soaked in stock, half a tin of tuna, and the last bit of coleslaw made from leftover white cabbage. I've been working from home for too long.Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 5:21 pmDo you have no standards Dave?Anyway, Weetabix and bread are both just wheat re-assembled in different forms, so I can't see why putting beans on one is right and the other is wrong.

Porridge with cold beans, or raw rolled oats...
I had enough weetabix as, a kid, then I realised where all old chipboard ends up....
Oh at some tinned herring & spinach to make it tasty and a balanced meal.
