In theory, it's a great idea yet the reality is somewhat different. I've already seen various social media posts from people who ride regularly and who (a) can certainly afford to pay for a service (b) would likely do their own anyway, trying to get themselves a voucher. Rather sadly, the last few months seems to have brought out the very worst in many people and this just seems to be another opportunity for those who feel entitled to carry on in the same vain. Maybe we really have become a nation of selfish lazy tw@ts.

I want to build an app that connects new cyclists with old hands who can help them repair bikes, offer route advice and generally be eased into it.

Please get me some funding

Like the good old days of a functioning local community?

Nice idea. Crowd-fundable maybe?

Got to agree with Ton to be honest..

Most of my riding is done on quiet rural roads linking up bridleways, the first 6-7 weeks were weird, normally i will never see another cyclist on bridleways, just the odd dog walker, i couldn't move for people walking, cycling and one occasion i think just plain dogging... saw 4 times more people out and about than i would on a "normal" day. Was was obvious though, is that whilst the roads have gone back to being busier, all the bridleways and footpaths are empty again now, as soon as the pubs and Primark were open again, people realised that actually they didn't really like nature or exercise and that they must buy a 99p t-shirt from Primark or a £3 Wetherspoons breakfast again and that all that fresh air was a bit too much.
