I've neglected to phone the star, I'll do so tomorrow and if they are willing, I'll kip in the car park and partake in a beer and some grub

As of last night they still had one room available - I'd left it a bit late and managed to get one.

We'll see folk there next Friday :-bd

Getting my excuse in early...

Had a really bad back for the last 5 days, Saturday is only 5 more days away.

I'll be at the event and I'll try to get at least 1 grid ref (for a change) but my mileage will not be anywhere as much as normal.

I don't want to be 30 miles from base with 2 or 3 hills to cross and my back goes again.

I'm still looking forward to it, I may have to take 2 air mattresses to sleep on though.

See you in The Star Inn from around 9pm on Friday evening

Working on a Plan C easy route

Just packing a few bits and bobs. Has anyone seen where my down balaclava is please? I put it out to air on the dead tree that sits on our top landing but it's gone.

Thanks, 'Reg'

I'm told there's three rooms still available at The Star on Friday night if anyone fancies some comfort.

Might be worth checking for Saturday night given the forecast.

Anyone seen a dry one?

Shame, John - it would have been rather entertaining for the rest of us - albeit only for a few, short, quite startling seconds

Just made a minor adjustment to weekend equipment in the light of ongoing reports.

Now taking a marquee with large iron pegs instead of a small tarp.
