Got giardia in New Zealand after filling from a labled safe source (a drinking water tap)in Abel Tasman.

Have never carried a filter , occasionally boil up if I suspect the source but it was 3 weeks of unusually hot weather so the 10 litres I was carrying for the day on some of the remote sections wasn't cutting it in between +40-+50 .in Canada that lead to boiling up have never had the need in the UK.
