Seeing as it's Friday this brought a smile to my face. I was browsing Enlightened Equipment's website and they make a quilt with a hole so you can wear it as a poncho. This is obviously a good idea in theory as it reduces the load carried and adds versatility to your gear. The expression on the model's face seems to suggest that in practice unless you want to look like you've lost a fight with a duvet you'd be better off carrying a jacket  Do we think this was his first day working for them and the boss said "I've got a little job for you this morning"

In other news operation 'mend the 'kin bridge' should come to an end today - yay indeed. :-bd

 That's what he reminds me of, Mum's immersion tank with the lagging.

Re, the bridge, as I work in civil engineering, I would say you'd be fine if you just used more speed when going over it so you got to the other side before it collapsed*

* This would be at your own risk and i accept no liability for any damage caused

I've spent all week doing that as the plate I put over it isn't quite big enough

Yes it did help thank you Verena. I used to be fond of KitKats dunked in beer but not tried that for a while. Cream crackered today though.

Not quite yet, but almost.... can't come soon enough this week... actually SITTING DOWN at the moment, feet up on the sofa, on my own, listening to some chilled out music on Jo Whiley, browsing the forum, soggy muddy hound flaked out, walked and fed. Bliss.

Agree. Just back from taking Old Ma Perrin for MRI. Emotionally fooked. But get a grip Reg.

So you/we only have 3h 21mins to wait Verena. How're you gonna fill the time so as to be there at 00:01 on Cheery Friday? I can see that bottle of vino on top of your fridge. Go on, I know you're saving it for Friday but who's to know eh? We won't tell a soul.

Well it’s an extra cheery Friday for me because I’ve gone down to four days a week at work, so I’ll be out on my bike for some lockdown-compliant local exercise. :d :YMPARTY: \:d/

I know it's not Friday yet but this little story cheered me up today and I'll forget to tell you tomorrow. BTW, it isn't a joke, it's a true story.

A woman landed a new job working for the NHS. She was very excited about it and really looking forward to starting. A few days before she commenced her new job, she received a letter which contained details of her passwords and work email address. The ladies name is Melissa Fingers and it appears that in her department, email address are made up from your surname and first two letters of your first name. Sadly, that means that her email address is fingerme@nhs.gov

Sorry if I've lowered the tone again.

Pfft ...lol. I've just dropped her a note to let her know she's on our radar.

Actually, I haven't.

I used to work with a guy who was called Ken Wannel. Our email pattern was first 4 letters of last name and first letter of forename. He wasn't very pleased with wannk@ourcompany.co.uk

I've just had an email in which the company describe one of their bikes as an 'Adventure weapon'. Really, what kind of bolloxy nonsense is that. Made me laugh.

My Jones is called 'you bast***' as in "get up that hill . up that step/ through that bog you.... etc"
Adventure weapon. Hmmm. Bit like saying a Dawes Galaxy is a 'Touring weapon'
My Ice Cream Truck is a tussock weapon. :YMDEVIL:
