FInally back orienteering and forcing a 3 year old into brambles. GET IN THE BUSH CHILD:

Ha, don't joke about 'get in to the brambles child' there is a scary ending to that approach! Orienteering is my number one hobby, and I have encouraged my kids since they could walk.
I always remind them that a) it's a running race, b) always finish, even if you get a bit lost, get to the end, do not drop out as you don;t know how everyone else is doing, and lots of various other 'encouragements.
A couple of years ago my daughter was in the Avon and Somerset Schools league, and was doing ok. At one race in the Forest of Dean she was late back, and increasingly so, I was thinking she had really f****d it up and I admit I was getting a bit cross. Eventually I went for a walk and saw her coming down a track towards the finish, bloody walking! I shouted to remind her "It's a running race" at which point she looked up at me, smiled and jogged to the finish. I asked her why she had taken so long and she just looked down at her foot..........
She had jumped a stream and got stuck in some hidden barbed wire on landing. She told me it really hurt, but that she knew she had to finish to get the points in the race! Anyway, It was nothing 5 stitches and a tetanus couldn't fix!
I have never felt so guilty and proud in one moment in my whole life
Oh, she won the seasons competition

Skills :)
Mine is only 3, I've had her trying to go through brashings to get to controls - she has no fear of the sharpness, just irritation that it's in the way of where her compass is pointing. Even if it's totally incorrect.

Absolutely excellent, it sounds like you are teaching her the way to do it, and who cares if she goes the wrong way now and again? I hope she sticks with it, it is the sport which has brought me the most joy

They just should not allow us psychiatric nurses anywhere near home blood testing kits! It was like Reservoir Dogs in my kitchen, my general nurse friends think this is hilarious and all say they would have only needed one finger, not three!
I now need a lay down and probably a blood transfusion

On this morning's ride, the photo doesn't really do the colours justice. I just stopped for a few minutes to listen to the birds singing, magical.

Just popped outside and saw that this. Seems there's a bit of a meteorological battle going on.

Have you tried tweaking images with Google Snapseed, obviously not Photoshop, but surprisingly good on a phone..

a post Christmas lunch wobble in the ice, treated to a bit of a view
a bit of ice on a rock a few days later,
Same day as the rock, a human about to drop off the edge
My third run in the last couple of weeks, also my third in a few years, fast I was not... (I blame the terrain)

So yo already have?
Checking images on flickr or other hosting site is a bit too nerdy for me. Sorry I left the Anorak behind, (also it's a bit too cold for that at moment).
Glad your enjoying it, maybe other will find it's potential. Free aswell
