I swore I wouldn't read about this trip . . . . But I'm obviously more interested than envious (not sure how long that balance will last !)

Hope you all have a great time :)

I may have seen those already. . . .I try not to look too much.

I think I've done quite well keeping off the bike. Although my stooge is looking at me longingly. . . . Must resist!

How are you getting on with the Stooge? I'm still tempted to get one!

Chicken legs and me are in Sestrieres having fun all breakfast as the Italians only waft croissants at each other in the morning. There will be many broken people following us as it ain't easy. Especially the Italians we passed on road bikes.

Great going Dave (and chicken legs), keep it up, show them Italians there's more to breakfast than croissants! Did you see Stu and Chew at the start? Bet they are cursing the extra miles from Milan they put in! :YMSIGH:

In Sestriere having large plate of pasta and multiple coffees. Finestre was a brutal slog (bivvied half way up last night). Assieta (sp?) was tough too, but the high stradas in between have been stunning. Dinner in next town then up the next col to bivvy.

Yup it was!!! But not as bad as the ride into sestriere... Those gravel roads.... Arrived 8.30pm, most places shut. Temperature dropped really quick as no sun this side of the mountain. 'Forced' to take a hotel room with Stu (yup, it's that cold!!) chew and Gairy.
The scenery is stunning, very hot. Just like the TT

Sorry I was distracted by the Stu in a hotel thing
. .

How on earth did you do that? Walking the dog down the side of Clifton suspension bridge? I'm supposed to be avoiding dangerous pastimes atm - I best add dog walking to my list!

Loved it - but it's been put to one side atm due to health reasons . . . I cannot wait for the moment I get to ride it again - such a fantastic bike :)

Stood on a big rock by a stream throwing sticks for the dogs running round like loons, I turned round and the smooth, wet rock was like ice. Feet slipped from under me and I landed flat on my back on the rock. Winded and shaken I eventually picked myself up and as the minutes went by my shoulder and ribs started smarting.
Zoe drove me to A&E and I'm sure she aimed for every pothole. She's been taking the piss all week.

Did you give him any pointers Taylor from your vast experience of WRT B&B nights .. how to book a room etc? I say, it'd better not be on the credit card bill

Maybe there's a gap in the Alpkit Big shakeout courses?

Sitting in Dimonte eating icecream after 15 mile descent. 3 hour push up over Gardetta pass this morning. Sunburnt and happy. Haven't seen any Boners since Dave and Andy on first evening. Riding with bloody quick audax blokes yesterday and today.

Agnel was tough. Sampeyere was tougher. Bonked at the top and hucked over the side of the rails into the ravine on the alternate. Looking forward to being done.
