Re: Transcontinental
Not sure but I put the details on the calendar anyway
Re: Transcontinental
Tracking at:
http://www.frrt.org/tcrno4/
http://trackleaders.com/transconrace16
Dave Kitchen has put together a list of riders this year on Twitter: https://twitter.com/buro9/lists/tcrno4
Fair few riders updating things on Instagram too: https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/TCRNo4/
Riders that should be at the sharp end of this...
Kristof Allegaert (won TCR 1&2, won Trans Siberia last year)
Matthijs Ligt (fastest PBP last year, entirely unsupported)
Josh Ibbet (won TCR3)
James Hayden (first to CP1 last year, scratched with Shermers Neck)
Geoffroy Dussault (first? pro rider taking part)
Ultan Coyle (tt rider, 3rd or 4th last year)
Other interesting riders...
Hippy (Stuart Birnie) (24h tt rider, drinking a beer in every country, first big unsupported event)
Stephane Ouaja - finished riding fixed gear last year, was almost mugged iirc, gears this time
Might pick out a few more when I've had some coffee... I really like the whole idea of TCR, the free route aspect, racing across a continent and it's interesting to get perspective from some of the racers on social media. If only there was something similar with less cars...

Josh Ibbet scratched, recurring back problems.

No 26 Bjorn Lenhard 'won' PBP last year. He was unsupported unlike some of his rivals.
Spoke to Josh before the start and he sounded hopeful.
Matthias Ligt had a beautiful Columbus Spirit steel bike from same manufacturer as Kristoff much lighter than the Salsa he had last year. Not much kit either. Last year he arrived on Ventoux just before Emily Chappel and got a photo of them both.
Think Atk got the two confused.
I was helping to issue the trackers at registration and put a few pics on my Instagram feed blackhound59

Re: Transcontinental
I'm keeping an eye on Emily Chappell who's back to do it this year after having to bail in last year race due to a wee health scare. Looking good so far (she's riding number 7).

Just noticed Kev C's cameo at 23:38 flying the BB flag (well, beanie)

Bugger - sorry to hear that.
Re: Transcontinental
Seems I've inadvertently ended up camping at one of the checkpoints in Charolles. Saw several racers as I headed to buy my tea, some looking better than others

Oh, they were in Grindelwald. I hope no one got hit by fireworks (01.08. is the Swiss national day).
