Tussock Racing World Champs.

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

As some of you will be aware, next weekend will see the very first (and who knows, maybe the last) Tussock Racing World Championships take place. I thought it might be useful to clarify a few points beforehand.

1/ If you'd like to take part, you'll need to register you interest when you sign in at Bearstock ... don't be shy.
2/ Racing will start at 4.00pm prompt(ish).
3/ Racing is open to both sexes and all ages but be aware this is 'heads up' racing, there's no seperate class structure.
4/ Racing will be conducted on a head to head format with the winner going through to the next round.
5/ Pairings will be decided on a lottery basis.
6/ One winner - one trophy.

Rules
1/ Racers must complete the course with a complete, rideable bicycle and it must be the exact same bicycle they started with.
2/ Riding, pushing and carrying are all permitted.
3/ Additional aids to carrying such as pipe lagging frame tubes are allowed as long as they don't interfere with a riders ability to actually ride.
4/ Lane choice will be decided by the order riders names are drawn - first rider = left hand lane.
5/ Any form of footwear / clothing is permitted.
6/ Riders must 'ding' the official bell at the end of their run in order to 'stop the clock' - the 'clock' will continue to tick until this is done.
7/ Riders must not start until the official hooter / siren is heard - 2 false starts will result in disqualification and an advisory hearing test.
8/ Practice runs are strictly prohibited.
9/ Luggage can be removed before racing commences if a rider so wishes.
10/ Helmets must be worn by all racers.

Any questions or whatever - shout up

No luggage?! Surely that's the worst bit about tussock yomping - if we could all leave our luggage in a convenient place bb200 would be much easier!

Sadly I'll be giving this a miss (if I even get there). Will be entertaining to watch though.
