A particular type of strap.

Post by ctznsmith »

So 'common sense' suggests I should put a strap on the bottle in the picture.

However just a long strap is going to foul the gear cables.

So what I really need is two straps sewn together or that go through some kind of block (of a similar width to the distance the Monki cage is from the frame?).

Does anyone know if this exists before I lose hours of my life in internet search engines?

It's kind of similar to the bar/helmet mounts you get for torches but with the straps not offset 90 degrees (and no curved bit for bar/torch...though I could cut/file off).

If you have a narrowish strap just cross over between the bottle and the downtube to form a figure of 8

Doesn't need to be complicated, one of these would do:

Vole strap would work well - I use one for similar duties - sticky too. Mmmm sticky.

be careful putting a strap around above the cage you can pull the bottle towards the frame and then the bottom of the bottle out of the monkey clip then the bottle is gone

You need to use a lockblock, and then put bigger straps on. It's used to mount to helmets, try eBay

But aren't they offset 90 degrees?

Block of cheese between the bottle and frame. metal buckle velcro strap (ebay) round the lot

If it s there for ages it'll harden off and be solid. If you empty the bottle quickly then you can eat it.

its win-win surely? :-bd ,

or maybe rubber as a spacer if the cheese thing is too far out for your tastes, cut down foam mat would do it

Vegan alternate? Tofu would be too soft.
